COMMISSION AN ARTWORK
A work created for you, within my artistic language.
Commissioning an artwork is an opportunity to create something unique for a particular person, place or moment.
It begins with a conversation.
You may already know the size you need, have a particular space in mind, or simply feel connected to my work and want to explore the possibility of creating something specifically for you.
You don't need to arrive with a finished idea. That is part of the process.
THIS IS HOW I WORK
The process begins with a short, no-obligation conversation.
Tell me what you have in mind, where the artwork will live, what has drawn you to my work and anything else you think might be relevant.
We can discuss:

The purpose of this first conversation is simply to see whether your project and my work are a good fit.
THE PROPOSAL
If, after our Discovery Call, we both feel the project is a good fit, I will invite you to move forward with a personalised proposal.
A Project Development a basis fee is required before I begin developing the project. This covers the time involved in considering the commission, defining its creative and practical framework, and preparing a detailed proposal.
The proposal will define:

the type of artwork

dimensions and materials

the agreed creative direction

price
-
estimated completion time
-
payment schedule
-
delivery, shipping or installation requirements, where applicable
If you decide to proceed with the commission, the Project Development Fee will be deducted from the final price of the artwork.
Once the proposal has been accepted, the commission is confirmed with the initial 50% payment and a Commission Agreement.
For large-scale, architectural or site-specific projects, the Project Development Fee may be higher depending on the scope and complexity of the proposal. The applicable fee will always be agreed with you in advance.

Once you are happy with the proposal and decide to proceed, the project is formally confirmed with a Commission Agreement and a 50% initial payment.
The Project Development Fee already paid will be credited towards this first payment.
The Commission Agreement will confirm the agreed - specifications, price, estimated timeline, payment schedule and delivery arrangements, so that everything is clear before the creative process begins.
Once the agreement is signed and the initial payment has been received, your commission is confirmed and a place is reserved in my studio schedule.
The remaining 50% is due once the artwork is completed and before delivery, collection or shipment.
THE CREATIVE PROCESS
Once the direction of the commission has been agreed, the creative process begins.
Your involvement at the beginning is important. I want to understand the space, the atmosphere you are looking for, what draws you to my work and any practical considerations that matter to you.
From there, trust becomes an essential part of the process.
A commissioned artwork is created for you, but it is not designed step by step together. I need the creative freedom to interpret what we have discussed through my own artistic language and process.
Depending on the nature of the project, I may share an update along the way, but this is not intended as a stage-by-stage approval process.
The essential framework is agreed together. The artwork itself needs room to evolve.
COMPLETION & DELIVERY
Once the artwork is complete, I will share the finished piece with you.
The remaining 50% balance is due at this stage, before the artwork is collected, delivered or shipped.
Your artwork will be carefully prepared for its journey and, where applicable, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
For projects requiring specialist production, installation or on-site coordination, the final delivery and installation will follow the arrangements agreed in the proposal.
And then, the artwork becomes part of your space.
