OBA BLUE

Oba Blue moves between portrait and abstraction. Her impossibly long neck and the fragments that shape her seem to dissolve into the background, allowing the image to become almost abstract. Then her eyes bring you back to the figure, only for the background to pull you away again. Hidden within her is a scannography of flowers, adding another layer between what we recognise and what we simply perceive.
