TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Last updated: September 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Bego Lafuente Art online shop and, where applicable, to commissioned artworks agreed directly with the customer.
Please read these Terms & Conditions before placing an order.
1. ABOUT BEGO LAFUENTE ART
The seller is:
Business name: [exact registered business name]
Artist and owner: Begoña Lafuente
Registered address: [address]
Chamber of Commerce (KvK): [number]
VAT ID: [BTW ID]
Email: Info.begolafuenteart@gmail.com
Telephone: +31 681965794
Bego Lafuente Art is registered in the Netherlands.
Throughout these Terms & Conditions, “I”, “me” or “Bego Lafuente Art” refers to the seller and “you” or “customer” refers to the person purchasing an artwork.
2. ARTWORKS
The online shop may offer different types of artwork:
Original artworks
Original artworks are unique pieces unless expressly stated otherwise.
Once an original artwork has been sold, it will no longer be available for purchase.
Limited editions
Limited editions are produced only in the edition size indicated on the individual artwork page.
Each edition is signed and numbered by the artist where indicated.
Some limited editions may be produced after an order is received. In such cases, the estimated production time will be indicated on the product page or communicated to the customer.
The fact that a standard limited edition is produced after an order is placed does not, by itself, make the artwork a personalised or commissioned product.
Commissioned and custom-made artworks
Commissioned artworks are works created specifically for an individual customer according to specifications agreed between the customer and Bego Lafuente Art.
Before work begins, the principal characteristics of the commission, price, payment terms, estimated completion time and any other relevant conditions will be agreed with the customer.
Where an artwork is made according to the customer's specifications or is clearly personalised, the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply. The customer will be informed of this before confirming the commission.
3. ARTWORK IMAGES AND DESCRIPTIONS
Every reasonable effort is made to represent artworks accurately on this website.
However, colours and tones may appear slightly different depending on the screen, device and display settings used to view the artwork.
Dimensions, materials, technique, edition information and other relevant characteristics are stated on the individual artwork page.
Minor variations inherent to handmade or individually produced artworks are part of their nature and are not considered defects.
4. PRICES AND VAT
All prices are displayed in euros (€).
Prices shown to consumers include applicable VAT unless expressly stated otherwise.
Shipping or other additional costs, where applicable, will be clearly indicated before the customer completes the purchase.
Prices may change from time to time. A price change will not affect an order that has already been confirmed.
5. ORDERS AND PAYMENT
Before completing an online purchase, you will have the opportunity to review the selected artwork, price, applicable taxes, shipping costs and other relevant order information.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered during checkout.
An order is considered confirmed once payment has been successfully completed and you have received an order confirmation.
If an obvious technical or pricing error has occurred, or if an artwork is unexpectedly unavailable, I will contact you as soon as possible. Where the order cannot be fulfilled, any amount already paid will be refunded.
6. AVAILABILITY
Original artworks are unique and limited editions are available only in the stated quantities.
Some artworks may simultaneously be offered through this website, exhibitions, galleries or other sales channels.
Every reasonable effort is made to keep availability information up to date. However, in the exceptional event that an artwork is sold through another channel shortly before an online order is completed, you will be informed as soon as possible and will receive a full refund.
An alternative artwork may be offered, but you are under no obligation to accept it.
7. PRODUCTION AND DELIVERY TIMES
Artworks currently in stock will normally be prepared for dispatch within the timeframe indicated on the website.
Limited editions produced after an order is received require additional production time. An estimated production or dispatch time will be stated on the relevant product page or communicated before the order is confirmed.
Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise.
If a significant delay occurs, I will inform you as soon as reasonably possible.
8. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Available shipping destinations, estimated delivery times and shipping costs are indicated on the website or during checkout.
Artworks are carefully packaged according to their size, materials and method of transport.
Where Bego Lafuente Art arranges the transport, the risk of loss or damage remains with Bego Lafuente Art until you, or a third party designated by you, take physical possession of the artwork.
If delivery cannot be completed because incorrect or incomplete information was provided by the customer, or because a shipment is not collected after reasonable delivery attempts, additional shipping costs may be charged to the customer.
More detailed information can be found in the Shipping & Returns Policy.
9. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL AND RETURNS
9.1 Statutory right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer and the statutory right of withdrawal applies to your purchase, you have the right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days without giving a reason.
The withdrawal period generally begins on the day after you, or a third party designated by you, receives the artwork.
To exercise this right, you must communicate your decision to withdraw within the applicable period using the contact details or withdrawal facility provided on this website.
After communicating your withdrawal, the artwork must be returned within the legally applicable period.
9.2 Condition of returned artworks
You may inspect the artwork in the way reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and condition.
You may be responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is reasonably necessary for this purpose.
The artwork should be returned securely packaged, preferably using the original protective packaging where reasonably possible.
9.3 Return costs
Where you exercise the statutory right of withdrawal because you have changed your mind, the direct cost of returning the artwork is borne by you, provided you were informed of this before purchasing.
Because artworks may be fragile, valuable or oversized, appropriate packaging, tracked transport and, where appropriate, adequate transport insurance are strongly recommended.
9.4 Refunds
Where a valid right of withdrawal is exercised, refunds will be made in accordance with the applicable legal requirements and using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed.
I may withhold reimbursement until the artwork has been received back or you have supplied evidence of having sent it back, where permitted by law.
9.5 Exceptions
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply where a legal exception applies, including artworks made according to the customer's individual specifications or clearly personalised for that customer.
A standard artwork or limited edition is not considered personalised merely because it is produced after the order is placed.
10. DAMAGED, INCORRECT OR NON-CONFORMING ARTWORKS
If an artwork arrives damaged, or if you receive an artwork that does not correspond to your order, please contact me as soon as possible.
To help resolve transport damage quickly, I may ask you to provide photographs of:
-
the external packaging;
-
the internal packaging;
-
the artwork and the damage; and
-
the shipping label.
Please retain the original packaging until the issue has been resolved.
Where an artwork is damaged, incorrect or otherwise does not conform to the purchase agreement, your statutory consumer rights apply.
Where I am responsible for arranging the return of an incorrect, damaged or non-conforming artwork, the reasonable return costs will be borne by Bego Lafuente Art.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your mandatory statutory consumer rights.
11. CERTIFICATES, SIGNATURES AND LIMITED EDITIONS
Where indicated, original artworks and limited editions are supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Limited editions are produced only within the edition stated for that particular artwork.
Where applicable, the artwork will be signed and/or numbered by the artist.
Information concerning edition size, materials, dimensions and presentation will be stated on the individual artwork page.
12. COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, all artworks, images, photographs, texts and other original content displayed on this website are protected by copyright and remain the intellectual property of Bego Lafuente.
The purchase of an original artwork or limited edition transfers ownership of the physical artwork or print to the buyer. It does not transfer copyright, reproduction rights or any other intellectual property rights.
Without prior written permission, an artwork or image may not be reproduced, copied, commercially distributed, used to manufacture prints or merchandise, used for advertising or other commercial purposes, or otherwise commercially exploited.
Any authorised use of an artwork remains subject to the terms expressly agreed in writing.
13. COMMISSIONED ARTWORKS
Commissioned artworks may be subject to additional written terms agreed with the customer before work begins.
These may include:
-
dimensions and materials;
-
agreed artistic specifications;
-
price and deposit;
-
payment schedule;
-
estimated completion time;
-
delivery arrangements; and
-
any agreed stages of consultation or approval.
Because commissioned artworks may be created according to the customer's individual specifications or clearly personalised, they may be excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal.
Where this exception applies, this will be made clear to the customer before the commission is confirmed.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, commissioning and purchasing an artwork does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.
14. LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded or limited, or affects the mandatory rights of consumers.
Bego Lafuente Art is not responsible for damage resulting from improper handling, installation, storage or care of an artwork after delivery.
Care information may be provided where relevant to the materials used in a particular artwork.
15. FORCE MAJEURE
I will not be responsible for delays or failure to perform an obligation where this results from circumstances reasonably beyond my control, such as serious transport disruption, natural disasters, government restrictions or other comparable events.
If such circumstances materially prevent an order from being fulfilled, I will contact you to discuss an appropriate solution, which may include postponement or cancellation and refund where applicable.
16. COMPLAINTS AND CONTACT
If you have a question or complaint concerning an artwork, order or delivery, please contact:

Telephone: [telephone]
Please include your order number where applicable so that I can deal with your enquiry efficiently.
17. PRIVACY AND COOKIES
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Information about cookies and similar technologies can be found in the Cookie Policy.
18. APPLICABLE LAW
These Terms & Conditions and purchases made through Bego Lafuente Art are governed by Dutch law.
If you are a consumer residing in another country, this does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply to you under applicable law.
If a dispute arises, I encourage you to contact me first so that we can attempt to resolve the matter directly.
19. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the online shop, business practices or applicable legal requirements.
The version applicable to your purchase is the version in force at the time your order is placed.
